American Standard® & Fall-Winter Heating
Only the Best in Serving You
We’re further into fall, and as pleasant as it’s been of late, we all know what’s waiting around the corner. As sure as the earth circles the sun, winter will be here with its ice, wind and snow in Aurora, Oswego, Plainfield, Naperville and Lisle (IL).
When you’ve been serving the community as long as we have, you learn what customers need the most and what will meet those requirements. You develop a keen sense of separating the wheat from the chaff in the field of HVAC equipment and service.
Here at Beery Heating and Cooling, we’re always ready to support our customers with responsive furnace maintenance, repair and replacement. And whenever possible, we also want to make sure they have the system equipment that will serve them with the greatest performance and longevity.
For that reason, the main brand we represent and carry is American Standard.
Why Choose American Standard?
American Standard heating systems are distinctly designed for different home environments and comfort requirements. The always evolving technology behind them ensures the heating system works smarter – not harder – by using the right amount of energy in the most efficient ways.
Before we expand on that, let’s first review some quick history. What we now know as American Standard was originally formed in 1929 as a merger between the American Radiator Company and the Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company. That union established the American Radiator and Standard Sanitary Corporation and continued as such until 1967, when the company was renamed American Standard Corporation.
American Standard later acquired the Trane HVAC company. In 2007, it changed its official name to Trane after divesting all but the HVAC portion of the business. The company was sold to Ingersoll Rand in the following year, but both the Trane and American Standard brands remained intact just as they do today.
In the case of American Standard, we at Beery are glad the flag continued to fly for all it would do for our customers and our ability to serve them. Just a few features of American Standard gas furnaces include:
- variable-speed ECM blower motors
- two-stage furnaces in select models
- diagnostics for safety and troubleshooting
- washable filter
- insulated cabinets for quieter operation
- lifetime warranties on heat exchangers
- modulation for greater heating precision in top models
- WiFi options for select systems
Consumer Reports has named American Standard among its most reliable HVAC systems for 18 years in a row. We also love that their models are made in the USA. Better still for us and our customers in Aurora, Oswego, Plainfield, Naperville and Lisle, American Standard has a parts and supply warehouse in Aurora.
Because American Standard systems are of such high quality, their initial cost may be higher than other brands’, and you really do get what you pay for. The systems’ high quality typically results in fewer repairs and maintenance over time. What you invest up front can often keep money in your pocket in the long run.
American Standard’s furnaces feature:
SEER ratings of up to 97.3 percent
two-stage and single-stage heating
capability to link to a heat pump on some models
lifetime warranty on heat exchanger of some models
This should give you a good idea of why we’re such fans of the brand. We care about our customers, and we want you to have the greatest comfort, safety and peace of mind when it gets cold out for several months.
Furnace Maintenance, Repair & Replacement: Aurora, Oswego, Plainfield, Naperville, Lisle (IL)
Now that you have more insight into equipment that we believe in for serving you, let’s run through a quick refresher of some things to keep in mind as the temperatures continue to drop.
Check the air filter in your furnace regularly. This is still the number-one factor that determines proper system performance during the season. If the filter is dirty and clogged, it will reduce airflow. Beyond limiting the furnace’s ability to heat your home, a dirty filter can place extra strain on the system and raise heating bills as well.
Schedule a furnace cleaning and inspection. While early fall is ideal for maintenance, any time is still a good time to have your system looked at before a possible problem or malfunction appears in the heart of winter. A Beery technician can give your furnace a top-to-bottom review for its mechanical health and ability to keep you safe and warm.
Be alert to signs of system trouble, such as strange noises or odors, weaker or no heated air, or frequent on-and-off cycling. These are indicators that your furnace could be close to malfunctioning. If you become aware of such signs, let your technician team at Beery know right away.
